Philadelphia Police Capture Escaped Prisoner Who Fled from Hospital in Handcuffs

PHILADELPHIA — Alleem Bordan, a 29-year-old man accused of car theft, has eluded authorities after making a daring escape from police custody at a local hospital on Monday morning.

According to reports from FOX29 Philadelphia, Bordan managed to flee from officers at Temple University Episcopal Hospital, located at 100 East Lehigh Avenue in the Kensington area, at approximately 6:45 a.m.

The escape unfolded as two officers were escorting Bordan back to their patrol car. Seizing an opportune moment, Bordan broke into a sprint, evading capture despite being handcuffed at the time.

Philadelphia Police Department disclosed that Bordan was captured on surveillance footage from a nearby gas station, where he was seen sprinting through the parking lot with his hands restrained behind his back. Despite a swift and extensive search effort by law enforcement, Bordan remains at large.

Prior to his escape, Bordan had been under arrest for allegedly stealing a vehicle from a food delivery driver just days earlier. Officers apprehended him after discovering him asleep inside the stolen car, but Bordan’s attempted getaway resulted in a collision with a police vehicle before he was subdued and taken into custody.

During processing, Bordan complained of discomfort, prompting officers to transfer him to the hospital for medical evaluation. It was during this hospital visit that he managed to slip away from authorities.

While police have not divulged specific details regarding Bordan’s criminal background, they have issued a warning to the public urging them not to approach the suspect. Authorities have implored anyone with information regarding Bordan’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in the ongoing search effort.

As Philadelphia police intensify their efforts to locate and apprehend Alleem Bordan, residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any sightings or information that may aid in his swift capture.
